POEM SHARE: Children's poets from across the globe presenting their favorite poems for Poetry Month and beyond!

In today's POEM SHARE, Amy Ludwig VanDerwater shares a poem called "Perfect Timing" about one of her favorite signs of spring, tulip bulbs. In the poem, Amy uses a poetic device called personification, or giving human qualities to an object. See if you notice some of the ways tulips act like people in Amy's poem.

Amy has published many picture books and poetry collections for kids, including Sounds of Kindness, about an adult and child who explore a neighborhood, listening for the sounds of kindness.

Amy also shares more of her poems and poetry-writing ideas on her site The Poem Farm. Check it out for poetry fun all year long!

  1. Wonderful, Amy. And I love that you've named your writing shed Gratitude! Mary Oliver would be tickled.
