For POEM SHARE, children's poets from across the county present their favorite poems for Poetry Month and beyond. This year, POEM SHARE is back with some greatest hits! Here are some favorite poem videos that celebrate Spring.

In "Perfect Timing" Amy Ludwig VanDerwater writes about one of her favorite signs of spring, tulip bulbs. In the poem, Amy uses a poetic device called personification, or giving human qualities to an object. See if you notice some of the ways tulips act like people in Amy's poem.

In "Spring is a Bird" Lisa Varchol Perron uses clever metaphors to compare the seasons to animals.

Sounds of spring abound in this Poem Share by children's author Christy Mihaly, called "Spring Peepers." What sounds mark springtime where you live? Crickets chirping? Robins singing? Try writing your own spring sounds poem!

This Poem Share, "A Song for Spring" by Heidi Bee Roemer, is a great way to introduce analogies to kids.  Find more STEAM powered poetry on Heidi's website, Steam-Powered Poetry.

In this Poem Share, chirp along with the birds as Robyn Hood Black present some of her haiku to celebrate spring.

Happy Spring and Happy Poetry Month, everyone!
