Poem Share: Michelle Schaub Presents "Staycation"

Poem SharePOEM SHARE: Children's poets from across the globe presenting their favorite poems for Poetry Month and beyond!

In this Poem Share, children's poet Michelle Schaub (yes, that's me!) describes some of the creative ways  families spent time together during the coronavirus pandemic with her poem "Staycation." This interactive poem invites you to join in by making the American Sign Language sign for "NO" every time the word appears in the poem.

What are some of the special ways you spend time with your family? Try writing a poem about one of these activities!

Find "Staycation" and more interactive poems in Hop To It: Poems to Get You Moving, an anthology of 100 poems by award-winning poets from around the world, edited by Sylvia Vardell and Janet Wong.
